Bushfires October 2023

Q: Is Hat Head Holiday Park park open?

A: The park is officially closed for arrivals 18 October and 19 October 2023 based on advice from RFS.

Q: When can we access the park?

A: We do not have an indicative timeframe at this time however when the emergency services advise it is safe to do so, we will reopen the park.  We will keep you informed through SMS and our website for the most up-to-date advice.

Q: Is the road into Hat Head open?

A: Hat Head Road currently remains closed.

Q: Are there any alternative access roads?

A: There are no alternative access roads.

Q: Did the fire reach Hat Head?

A: The fire was in close proximity to Hat Head but did not reach the town centre or Hat Head Holiday Park directly.

Q: Are my belongings safe?

A: The park is currently closed so we have not been able to access or review any belongings since the evacuation 17 October.

Q: Will I receive a refund for my shortened stay?

A: Yes, refunds or credits will be provided for any cancelled or shortened stays as a result of this evacuation or closure.  We will notify you via email regarding your bookings.

Q: Can I come and get some of my belongings now but pick up the caravan later?

A: The park currently remains closed and access to the park will not be gained until the area is deemed accessible by RFS which we will keep you updated via SMS or website.
